Holne Park House in Ashburton, Devon, host couple who married at the venue two years previous
A couple that married at Holne Park House in Ashburton, Devon have returned to celebrate their second wedding anniversary at the Dartmoor-based wedding venue.
Jake and Leanne Parsons, along with 2-year-old son, Miles, recently stopped by to relive their wedding day memories over lunch.
The couple regularly take trips back to the area to visit family in Brixham. “This visit gave us the perfect opportunity to come back to Holne Park House and celebrate our wedding anniversary, Jake explained. “We love coming back to the area and to be back at the venue is so special.”
Sat in one of the venue’s impressive reception rooms overlooking the grand front lawn, the couple discussed their wedding and shared stories. “The whole day was just so perfect!” said Leanne. “When we approached the venue in the car, I just knew this was the one. When I saw the bedrooms, it was immediate. The price was so reasonable and for a venue like this we felt so lucky.”
Back in 2017, the couple’s wedding day was filled with sunshine and an outside ceremony took place in the Garden Pavilion which is a perfect location for a summer celebration and beautiful photos. “Holne Park House is located within the grounds of River Dart Country Park,” Jake explained further, “we had family that attended our wedding and made a holiday out of it. Some people stayed at the park and camped for four or five days.” Leanne added, “this was a big bonus for us because we were able to catch up with family and it was a great way to extend the wedding.”
Discussing their favourite memories of the day, Jake and Leanne both agreed that seeing their plans come to fruition was the highlight. Leanne said, “looking out of the window of the bridal suite and seeing everything ready was incredible. Also, there was no stress at all. Holne Park House did everything and we never had to ask for anything. The service was fantastic.”
The couple had their wedding breakfast in The Ballroom, which was then a dark red colour. It’s now a newly decorated room with stunning wooden features, a tall ceiling and large windows, superb for natural light. “The Ballroom was the perfect size and it was great to have family and friends chatting with guests on other tables easily,” Jake mentioned. “Our guests also really enjoyed the Tea Garden in the evening and we had a barbecue and that area was lovely too,” Leanne added.
When looking at the overall wedding experience, Leanne stated, “I feel like we can’t thank our wedding planner, Laura, enough. It was the best day ever. There wasn’t one thing that we would’ve changed about it, we loved it, everything was perfect. Jake added, “we have friends and family that came to our wedding from all over and they still mention how amazing it was. They think it’s the best wedding they’ve ever been to.”
